Honoring Our History. Expanding Our Reach.
For decades, Fulton Transit Authority has connected communities across Western Kentucky with safe, affordable, and dependable transportation. Today, we are building on that legacy as we transition to Jackson Purchase Transit Authority.
Fulton Transit Authority was established in 1985 through resolutions passed by the Fulton County Fiscal Court for the operation of a public transportation system within Region 1 of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
The first official Fulton Transit Authority trips began on February 18, 1986, providing residents with access to transportation for medical appointments, work, shopping, education, and essential community services.
Since its beginning, the agency has operated under the supervision of a Board of Directors appointed by the Fulton County Judge Executive. The Board provides oversight of the organization's operations, facilities, vehicles, equipment, and long-term planning.
For nearly four decades, Fulton Transit Authority has remained committed to helping residents stay connected to the places and services they need most.
