Medical Transportation
Jackson Purchase Transit provides reliable, non-emergency transportation to doctor’s appointments, hospitals, therapy, and other approved medical services.
Transportation Options Include:
- Medicaid: Eligible members without access to transportation may qualify for free rides to Medicaid-covered services. Reservations require at least 72 hours’ notice.
- Medicare: Some Medicare plans may include transportation benefits. Call the number on the back of your Medicare card to check your eligibility and schedule a ride.
- Private Pay: Riders who do not qualify for Medicaid or Medicare transportation may schedule a medical trip and pay the applicable fare.
Jackson Purchase Transit serves Fulton, Hickman, Graves, Carlisle, and Marshall counties. This service is for scheduled, non-emergency trips and does not replace an ambulance or emergency medical service.
GRITS Regional Care
Jackson Purchase Transit serves Kentucky Medicaid Region 1 through the GRITS program, providing rides for eligible Medicaid members in our service area. This partnership helps eligible Medicaid members access authorized non-emergency medical transportation.
Operating Partnership: Region 1 Medicaid Support
- Jackson Purchase Transit serves Medicaid Region 1 and provides the actual ride
- GRITS/Audubon coordinates and authorizes all Medicaid transportation services
- Riders must contact GRITS directly to verify eligibility and schedule their trips
- Reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance
- Some pharmacy trips or specialty care visits may have specific restrictions or require referrals.
