Medicare & GRITS Transportation

Before You Schedule Your Ride

Certain transit services require formal approval through Medicare, GRITS, or another authorized funding provider before the Fulton Transit Authority can schedule your trip. Ensuring these authorizations are in place allows us to provide you with seamless and reliable transportation.

Medicare Transportation
  • Contact your transportation provider first.
  • Request trip authorization and approval.
  • Once approved, your transportation provider will coordinate with Fulton Transit Authority.

Important: Fulton Transit Authority cannot schedule or provide Medicare-funded transportation until authorization has been received from the transportation provider.

GRITS Transportation
  • Contact the appropriate GRITS program.
  • Complete any required eligibility or approval process.
  • Obtain authorization for transportation services.

Scheduling Requirements

To ensure availability, please provide at least 24-hour advance notice for your ride. We encourage you to schedule as early as possible, as availability may vary depending on the daily route and demand.

Payment Information

If a trip is not approved through Medicare, GRITS, or another authorized funding source, standard transit fares will apply. Payment is due at the time of service unless pre-arranged and approved by dispatch.
